He was the first Kabbalist honored by having the word "the" prefixed to his initials.

In 1898, Lama Anagarika Govinda, Buddhist monk, was born in Waldheim, Germany. He was caught by tuberculosis. During his stay at Capri in Italy during 1920 to 1928, his interest in Buddhism increased notably. He lived in Germany, Italy, Sri Lanka, India and USA.

Tulku Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche (1951), born into the Tsangsar family, received incarnation at the age of 18 months. He spent 13 years in studying Karma Kagyu, Drikung Kagyu, and Nyingma traditions. Having studied classic philosophical treatises, he earned Khenpo degree at an early age. He founded a charitable organization to help disadvantaged. Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche has overseen the welfare and spiritual education of almost 500 monks and nuns, for more than 30 years.
